Alzheimer’s Action Day: Go Put On Your Purple!

I hope you remembered to wear your purple today!  If not go put some on.  Today is Alzheimer’s Action Day and the Alzheimer’s Association is encouraging everyone to wear purple to raise awareness of this horrible disease during World Alzheimer’s Month.  According to alz.org, “Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking, and behavior. The most common early symptom of Alzheimer’s is difficulty remembering newly learned information.”

Alzheimer’s disease is one of the top leading causes of death and affects a large number of families all over the world, including mine.  Please help how ever you can, by donating or walking in your local Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

There has been a lot of coverage lately explaining the beneficial effects that coconut oil has on Alzheimer’s patients. Coconut oil contains medium chain triglycerides.  When you digest coconut oil your liver converts those MCT’s to ketones, which is a main source of energy for your brain.  Check out the links below to get a little more information on how coconut oil works to benefit those with this disease.
