Blueprint Cleanse

4 of the 6 Juices on Day 1

Lots of us are starting the year out eating right.  The health food stores have been packed with newcomers and the treadmills at the gym have a waitlist to use.  This year, I’m off to a healthy start with the Blueprint Cleanse.  I’m especially excited because I came down with a cold this past weekend that I thought I wasn’t going to catch, but apparently did.

From their website, the Blueprint Cleanse explained:   “As the result of the pollutants in the air we breathe and chemicals in the food and water we consume, the body accumulates “toxins.” Every once in while the body needs to rid itself of these toxins. When the tissues release these materials, they enter into the bloodstream, which is the cause of all those “detox symptoms.” Blueprint Cleanse is a NUTRITIONAL Cleanse that is effective in helping the body detoxify itself and move through this “low” or detox cycle faster and with fewer symptoms. Cleansing is recommended for many illnesses, as it gives the body the rest it needs to recover. Take away the work of digesting food and one allows the system to rid itself of old toxins while facilitating healing.”

The juices on my cleanse consist of three varieties: green juice, spicy lemonade, and cashew milk.  Each of the three days, I drink three green juices, followed by the lemonade, another green juice, and finally the cashew milk two hours before bed.  I am really looking forward to getting my system back to the alkaline state.  Most foods and drinks are acidic and acidity is thought to lead to disease in the body.  The acid is why things taste sooo good to us, but we must restrain and remember to re-align our bodies to the proper pH balance.  Coconut oil is a low alkaline forming food according to Essence-of-Life.com, but alkaline none the less.  I saw that the Blueprint Cleanse does suggest coconut oil in their maintain Blueprint Kit.  However, may I suggest that if you are using an organic coconut oil, and want all of the benefits, an unrefined, organic coconut oil, such as Kelapo is a better choice for your pantry then refined coconut oil, as seen on their website.

Wish me luck!  I have two and a half more days of juicing and then I’m off to San Francisco for the Fancy Food Show.  I’m sure I’ll be craving all the artisan cheeses, chocolates, and wine samples that I can get my hands on!
