1.       What is the story behind the store?

After helping hundreds of NYC parents learn how to use babycarriers through her support group, Slings in the City, Bianca Fehn opened an online store. Eventually, she opened a brick and mortar store to offer parents hands-on help using their carriers.

2.       What makes Metro Minis unique?

Metro Minis is unique in the amount and quality of attention given to each client. Whether you take advantage of one of our many classes or private consultation sessions or simple walk-in to the store, you will leave our store with the knowledge and confidence to babywear. Our store is staffed by birth and postpartum doulas, lactation counsultants, yoga instructors, and experienced moms who have tons of knowledge to impart on babycarriers, cloth diapers, eco-friendly toys and general parenting information. Metro Minis is a place moms and dads can come to connect with other parents and share and get advice from parenting professionals.

3.       What do you recommend coconut oil for?

We recommend coconut oil as a great baby skin moisturizer that won’t damage your cloth diapers. An added bonus is that it offers a light sun protection that is safe for even the youngest of babies. We also use it for our infant massage classes.

4.       Tell us about the classes you offer.

We have an expansive course list, including Babywearing 101, Cloth Diaper 101, Elimination Communication, Infant Massage, Fearless Childbirth, Breastfeeding 101, Fearless Childbirth, Self-Care in the Postpartum Daze, Infant/Adult CPR and more! We also have lots of special workshops and events.

5.       Is there anything else you want our readers to know?

We are really proud to be featured as Best Baby Carrier 2012 in NY Magazine.

Thanks to Bianca and the whole team at Metro Minis!
