The Celebrity Coconut Craze

Lately, it seems celebrities can’t stop talking about coconut oil. Now, of course, we don’t mind this at all. We are coconuts about it, too! We’ve talked about some of Hollywood’s elite using the oil before – now we have few new names to add to the list, as well as one of our “FRIENDS” favorite new use for it.

Gwyneth Paltrow – This veteran of the red carpet says coconut oil is her go-to natural product. She uses it as a moisturizer and in her cooking – but what got the most attention was oil pulling. The star says she swishes coconut oil in her mouth for up to 20 minutes a day for a naturally cleaner smile. The

Shailene Woodley – She may be a newcomer to Hollywood, but Shailene is already making waves for her natural beauty routine. The “Divergent” star recently talked about oil pulling, too. “It really makes your teeth whiter, because the plaque on your teeth is not water soluble, it’s fat-soluble. So the lipids have to dissolve in fats, which is why oil works in your mouth,” Shailene told Into the Gloss.

Minnie Driver – With that much beautiful curly hair, you know there has to be a secret to it. Turns out – it’s coconut oil! The star told InStyle she saturates her hair in coconut oil for an entire day once a month. Minnie says after washing it out, her locks are smooth and super manageable.

Jennifer Aniston – She’s been using the stuff for years. The Friends alum told Shape Magazine about making her all-time favorite food with it. “The food I love so much that if I dropped it on the floor, I’d eat it anyway is a nacho. I fry the chips myself. Just take a tortilla, cut it into triangles, and throw ’em in coconut oil.” That DOES sound delicious.
