Warm Holiday Drink Recipes

Who doesn’t enjoy a warm drink on a snowy winter day? Granted I have never seen snow in Florida, but I love warm holiday drinks! Nothing says “Merry Christmas” like the idea of being in front of the fireplace right next to the Christmas tree while drinking a warm cup of hot chocolate. Today, I’ve tweaked a couple recipes and also created a new recipe for your tasting pleasure!

First on our list is Broiled Bailey’s Hot Chocolate and it sounds absolutely enchanting! I’ve added a teaspoon of Kelapo Coconut Oil to this recipe just to make it a tad sweeter. I mean, who doesn’t love the taste of coconut with chocolate?

Ingredients Needed:

3 cups of milk

1/3 cup of half and half

1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

½ cup of Bailey’s Irish Cream

Marshmallows

1 teaspoon of Kelapo Coconut Oil

In a small saucepan, add the milk, half and half and Kelapo Coconut Oil. Turn the stove on medium to let the ingredients warm up and add the chocolate chips. Whisk frequently. Once the chocolate chips have melted you can add in the Bailey’s. Stir until everything is combined. Next place the hot chocolate in oven safe mugs and add the marshmallows on top. Turn the broiler on low and add the mugs in the oven. Remember to keep the oven door open so you can watch the marshmallows! Once you see that the marshmallows are toasty, turn off the oven and your hot chocolate can be served!

This next recipe was created by Kelapo and I am happy to share it with you today!

Golden Milk Tea

Ingredients Needed:

2 cups of milk

2 teaspoons of Kelapo Ghee

½ teaspoons of turmeric

½ teaspoon of cinnamon

Pinch of black pepper

Pinch of cloves

1 teaspoons of raw honey

1 scoop of collagen

1/8 teaspoon of fresh ginger (peeled)

This recipe is quick and easy. You’ll want to add all the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend. Once that is done, pour the blended ingredients to a sauce pan and turn on the heat to medium until hot. Pour into a mug and you are ready to serve. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Last but certainly not least on our recipe list is Peppermint Mocha. This recipe will require you to make two separate items. First you will make the peppermint mocha syrup and then the actual peppermint mocha drink.

Peppermint Mocha Syrup

Ingredients needed:

1 ½ cup of milk

½ cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup of Dutch-processed cocoa powder

1 teaspoon of peppermint extract

2/3 cup of dark (bittersweet) chocolate chips

On a saucepan on medium-low heat, mix the milk and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves into the milk. Sift in the cocoa powder and add the chocolate chips. Make sure to whisk them until it is smooth. Turn off your stove, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the peppermint extract. Make sure to whisk. Add the finished syrup into a jar and refrigerate.

Peppermint Mocha Syrup

Ingredients needed:

A double shot of espresso

3 tablespoons of peppermint mocha syrup

½ cup of milk (steamed or frothed)

Cocoa powder (for topping)

To make this holiday drink add the peppermint mocha syrup to the espresso and microwave for about 20 seconds. Make sure to stir once you take it out. Next, pour the milk (frothed or steamed) into the coffee mug, holding back the froth with the back of a spoon. Add the froth on top. Pour in the syrup/espresso mixture in a circular motion while simultaneously turning the entire top layer of froth a soft chocolate color. Add the cocoa powder on top!
