Cleaning with this Magical Coconut Oil!

Cleaning with this Magic Oil

By now you have probably heard all about the health benefits of coconut oil.  An oil once thought of as being bad for your cholesterol is now revered for being good for your digestive system and metabolism, good for your immune system and blood pressure, good for heart disease and weight loss, good for energy levels and stress levels, and good for your skin, nails and hair.  It’s almost as if its magical!

And, as if that wasn’t enough… just wait, because there’s more!!

Coconut oil, which is naturally antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral, is also great for cleaning!

Here are two great uses that I’ve found:

I’ve long told people to mix olive oil and lemon juice to make a natural furniture polish but I recently discovered that coconut does the job just as well, if not better.  Go with about 2 parts coconut oil to 1 part lemon juice.  Try it first on the under-part of a table and if it works well there, then go to town!

If you’re stuck trying to remove the clingy, annoying adhesive from a sticky label, simply mix together about a teaspoon of coconut oil with a teaspoon of baking soda.  The baking soda adds a scouring agent so be careful not to use this on delicate surfaces.  Spread the paste over the stickiness, let it sit for a minute or two, then rub off.

So, get to work!  Hasn’t anyone told you your house is a mess?!
