National Cheeseburger Day
It is National Cheeseburger Day, and oh is my fiancé excited! While I am a diehard burger fan, I am not a lover of cheese. Regardless, instead of eating this juicy and greasy meat at your local food joint, let’s get creative! My fiancé has been asking (or begging) me to make bacon and cheddar stuffed burgers, which I’ve always replied to with a no. Now, that National Cheeseburger Day is here, I only saw it fitting to surprise him with this recipe when he got home from work. So, without further ado, let’s get started!
Bacon Cheddar Cheese Stuffed Burgers
So I did not make these burgers on the grill. I made them on a grill pan which kind of works the same way, but if you have a grill I recommend to use it instead.
Ingredients needed:
8 slices of bacon
1 lb of ground beef (85% lean)
½ cup of cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
1 teaspoon of salt
Kelapo Ghee Non-Stick Cooking Spray
Start by cooking up the bacon for about 2 to 3 minutes per side. The idea is to not let the bacon get too crispy. Once the bacon’s ready, remove from heat and set aside to cool. Next add the shredded cheese, pepper, salt, Worcestershire sauce, chopped bacon, and ground beef into a large bowl. Using your hands, or a non-stick spatula, combine until all ingredients have been evenly dispersed. Next, you’ll want to mold your patties, now I normally do this by hand but you can also use a burger press if you have one. With this amount, you’ll be able to get 4 patties. Next, add the Kelapo Ghee Spray to the grill pan and turn up to medium heat. Let the pan sear for about a minute or two and then add in the patties. Depending on the doneness, is the timing you’ll want to leave the patties cooking. I prefer medium-well so I cook mine for about 6 minutes on each side. Once they’ve finished cooking, add to the buns and top with all the desired toppings. I added lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and mayonnaise to my fiance’s, but you can add your own.
