Potato Chip Bonanza!
National Potato Chip Day has got me singing! I love potatoes because you can make so many different recipes with them (who are we kidding, they’re delicious too!)! Plus, I finally get to share with everyone my favorite recipe on how to get the perfect homemade potato chips! I’ve also got a couple of extra potato chip recipes up my sleeve today.
Air Fryer Potato Chips
Now, personally, this is my favorite way to make potato chips but I have also tried baking them. If you have an air fryer then perfect, this recipe is for you! If you don’t, don’t worry! I’ve got some more baking recipes below.
Ingredients needed:
1 medium russet potato
1/8 teaspoon of sea salt
Kelapo Coconut Oil Non-Stick Cooking Spray
Begin by making sure the potato(es) are washed and dried. Then, using a knife cut the potato(es) in very thin slices. You can also use mandoline slicer, but I personally prefer the old school way. With a paper towel make sure to dry the excess moisture. Using the Kelapo Coconut Oil Non-Stick Cooking Spray to spray the entire air fryer basket. Then add in your potato slices evenly throughout the basket while making sure they are not overlapping each other. Spray the top of the potatoes with the same spray and add the sea salt on top. Air fry them for about 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Once they were finished I added pepper and a bit more of salt to the potato chips, but you can add any seasoning you like.
Cool Ranch Potato Chips
Ingredients needed:
3 gold potatoes
1 tablespoon of Kelapo Ghee (melted)
1 packet of ranch dressing mix
¼ cup of chives
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of pepper
Kelapo Ghee Non-Stick Cooking Spray
Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Slice up all the potatoes into thin slices (1/8” inch) and add them into a large-sized bowl. Now you can add in the Kelapo Ghee, chives, packet of ranch dressing mix, salt and pepper. Using a non-stick spatula make sure all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed and are on all the potato slices. On a baking sheet grease the pan with Kelapo Ghee Non-Stick Cooking Spray and lay out the potato slices side by side but not overlapping each other. Pop them in the oven and bake them for about 30 to 35 minutes. Once done, they’re ready to serve!
Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips
I made these for a tailgate and everyone was a huge fan!
Ingredients needed:
3 gold potatoes
2 cups of vinegar
1 tablespoons of salt
1 tablespoon of pepper
Slice up all your potatoes into thin slices (about 1/8” inch). You can either use a mandoline or a knife. In a large bowl, add the sliced potatoes and the vinegar. Make sure all the potatoes are submerged in the vinegar and leave them that way for about 30 minutes. I let them sit for about 20- 25 minutes so the vinegar would not be so strong but that just depends on taste. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. After the time desired has passed, drain the potatoes and mix in the salt and pepper. Grease the baking pan with Kelapo Ghee Non-Stick Cooking Spray and place all the potatoes slices next to each other checking that they do not overlap. Bake them for about 30-35 minutes and they’re good to go!
