Tom Clark first became interested in the grocery business while working at Safeway. He loved getting to know the ins and outs of the retail business and when he came to Aspen on his honeymoon in 1970, he fell in love with the community and decided to move there. The town at that point badly needed another grocery store and he jumped at the opportunity when a land developer took a chance on him to fill that need. The first Clark’s Market opened in Aspen on November 9, 1978 and is now a fixture in the community.
Clark’s Market has evolved to reflect the communities it serves. There are several locations across Colorado’s Western Slope and in the small community of Blanding, Utah. In Aspen, CO, Clark’s offers customers a conventional grocery store that emphasizes the natural, organic, and gourmet products that are important to its health conscious consumers.
Clark’s Market has several annual promotions designed to bring the best and freshest food to its customers at an affordable price. We recently wrapped up our annual President’s Day Cheese Sale featuring a wide variety of the best cheeses from around the world and our very best prices. Coming up in March, we hold our annual Seafood Extravaganza featuring both a wide variety of both Hawaiian seafood along with shrimp, lobster, Atlantic king crab and more! Recently, we were proud to begin offering for our customers high quality, grass fed beef raised on our very own ranch in Emma.
Both 8 and 14 oz jars.
Clark’s Market recognizes that its success is dependent on the loyalty of its customers and believes in putting forth the very best product at the best price and doing so with the highest level of service. We are strongly committed to the communities we serve and believe in giving back to the community in as many ways as we can. We donate a large amount of money to many different charities and non-profit groups as well as our local school systems and civic groups. One of our favorite events is our annual Halloween party, held for preschool children and our Mother’s Day event in May. We invite children to visit our store to decorate a free cake for their Moms!
Whether you live in Aspen, or if you are just visiting, make sure to stop by Clark’s Market and say hello! I have never personally been to Aspen but I will definitely by stopping by when I do. Are you a fan of Clark’s Market? Be sure to check out their Facebook and check out the store’s website. I’d like to thank Brenda and everyone else at the Aspen location for giving us the opportunity to share a little about their store!
