There’s been some Twitter chatter lately about the lauric acid in coconut oil being a long-chain fatty acid. Doctor Recommends Coconut Oil for Alzheimer’s Disease

We have posted about Dr. Mary Newport and her husband, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, in the past.  Here is another great video on Steve Newport’s success with coconut oil after his diagnosis.  According to an article published in the St. Pete Times: “After two weeks of taking coconut oil, Steve Newport’s results in an early onset Alzheimer’s test gradually improved says his wife, Dr. Mary Newport. National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month

The Alzheimer’s Association claims that “5.4 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, and it is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States and the fifth-leading cause of death in those aged 65 and older.”  I came across an article asking how nutrition plays an impact on someone who has a history of Alzheimer’s in their family.  The diet and fitness expert gave about three suggestions of what foods should be consumed to help stave off the disease.  I was most intrigued by her last entry about spicing up your diet with turmeric.
