Top Chef Seattle: Battle Before the War

This week on Top Chef, Wolfgang Puck joins Padma to host the Quickfire Challenge. The chefs are given ginger as their main ingredient to work with for their dishes. Some chefs even used ginger ale in their dishes! They will have 15 minutes to complete this challenge and the winner will receive immunity in the next Elimination challenge. Top Chef Seattle: Foiled Again

It’s Thursday which means it’s time for our weekly Top Chef Episode review! Last night featured a few interesting twists and some great dishes! First, we start with our QuickFire competition. For this QuickFire the contestants had to blindly choose all of the ingredients for their dishes! All of the ingredients in the kitchen were covered in foil. The contestants were allowed to open as many ingredients as they wanted, but once an ingredient was opened it had to go in their dish. Top Chef Seattle: Forks and Recreation

Last night Top Chef contestants needed to prove themselves after a horrible showing in last week’s episode. You can read my recap of last week’s episode here: Top Chef Seattle: Pike Place Market Challenge. I think the chef’s really stepped it up last night and at least tried to make their dishes more unique and interesting. The Quickfire Challenge was for the chefs to create sweet and savory holiday dishes using Truvia and all the chefs had to share ONE knife.
