Top 5 Ways to Clean and Party Prep with Coconut Oil

Fall Is Upon Us!

With the start of fall, I’m anxiously beginning to plan parties and get togethers for my family and friends. Making sure each section of the house is spotless and enduring hours of party prep can be a handful, but this year I decided to incorporate coconut oil into these tasks. I’m sure that my cooking, cleaning, and prep will be a breeze this time around! Coconut oil has anti-bacterial properties, which help with sterilization and sanitation. Not to mention, it’s a healthier alternative to butter and other oils when cooking and baking. Let’s take a look how coconut oil can help you this holiday season:

Cooking and Baking: From savory to sweet, this healthy alternative compliments any dish. When replacing butter or other oils for coconut oil, simply replace the measurement in a 1:1 ratio. Try out our white chocolate pumpkin mousse, spinach and artichoke phyllo cups, or kale chips to keep your guests feeling full and satisfied.

Cleaning: Ready to turn your tub from brown to sparkling white?! Coconut oil is great for cleaning the bathroom sink, shower, and tub because of its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. This is a great way to help remove stuck-on dirt and give a finishing polish.

Polishing: Have you ever had difficulty polishing wood furniture? Well if so, coconut oil will be your new best friend during your polishing adventures. Add a small amount of lemon juice to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and use on food furniture (test a small portion first). Also, for those stubborn scuff marks, try using a dab of coconut oil on hard wood flooring to help remove any scuff marks. A little will go a long way…just remember to thoroughly clean up after so no one slips!

Drinks: When entertaining your guests, it’s nice to whip up your own versions of drinks to go along with appetizers and dinner. Try our version of a margarita made with coconut oil or a  skinny cucumber gimlet.

Yourself: With all the hustle and bustle of cleaning and party prepping, there needs to be time to get yourself ready! Try applying coconut oil after you shave, exfoliate dead skin cells with our citrus scrub, soften hair, moisturize, and remove make up after a long party night.

It’s time to roll out the next three months of event planning! What will you be making with coconut oil?
